I'm the owner and tech expert at the Japina. The company started in 2006 as mainly electronic kit company, but quickly ventured on the IT (in the broadest sense of the word) path.

But let's start at the beginning. My professional path started in 1995 when I was working for a privately owned company called EMB d.o.o.
After six months there I took the opportunity to work for a bank (Banka Societe Generale), a member of the Societe Generale Group.
I've learned a lot there: setting up the main server, worked on the installation of Lotus Notes and took care of the user PCs.
After six years the Societe Generale HQ decided to buy the local bank SKB, third largest bank in Slovenia at that time and all staff from Societe Generale Ljubljana became part of a new bank in the SG Group.

Since it was quite a large bank I just could not fit in, so after 5 months I've decided to leave for the Faculty of Medicine (University of Ljubljana) where I accepted the post of IT administrator at the Institute for Biomedical informatics.
The Institute was responsible for the faculty servers, therefor I set up the web server and SMS gateway using open source tools (Linux).
At the Institute I have finished my Master's degree (at the Faculty of Electronics), the thesis title being "Automatic Tagging of Abstracts in Slovene" for which I also wrote tools in Python.
Part of my job at the Institute was also giving lectures for Word, Excel and Windows.

After 4 years at the Faculty the time came to pursue new challenges and I saw the opportunity to start my own company. Took that opportunity and here I am.
As said before I have started as an electronics company and after a year or so I made contract with the Municipality of Ĺ entrupert for computers and server maintenance.
I have also cooperated with Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia where I was a member of the Commitee for Research and Development (from 2006 until 2008).
Additionally, in 2006 I have registered my company as a research group at the Slovenian Agency for Research and Development (ARRS) so I can make proposals at public tenders.
